Herding sheep with border collies is as fascinating to watch as it is to try yourself. The workshop opens with a demonstration of how the border collie is trained for work with the flock. After that you have a go yourself, with the sheep and the dog, guided by experienced professionals and judged as you would be in a real competition.
Meanwhile the other team works through the great sheep quiz: no smartphones, just what you already know. What strikes you once it is your turn is that a flock responds only to calm, clear instructions. Raising your voice gets you nowhere. That turns this session in the open air into an unusual and very tangible exercise in communication.
