Farm Games

Hay bale bowling, egg throwing and a farm quiz: every round somebody else takes the lead, and you watch it happen.

Duration 2 – 4 hours
Participants 10 – 250

There is always work on a farm, and these games draw on the typical jobs around the yard. In teams you put your farming skills to use across a range of challenges: hay bale bowling, wheelbarrow racing, egg throwing, goat milking, a farm quiz, animal memory and more. One challenge asks for a steady hand, the next mostly for knowledge or a good memory.

The format was developed as an accessible alternative to the well-known Highland Games, and it is exactly that spread which makes the dynamics in a team visible. Who takes which role? Which team works well together? Whether a challenge succeeds or fails, it always tells you something. You can extend the day with sheepdog herding, regional produce tasting or farmers’ golf.
